The Story Behind Our Most Sentimental Brooksville Home – bittersweet goodbyes.

After 20 years in the Marines and more moves than we can count, it was time to plant roots—and this house became the first one we truly made our own.

When we returned to Brooksville, we purchased this property directly from a family friend instead of listing it on the market. At the time, we thought we’d be living there for years, so we poured ourselves into it—both financially and emotionally. It quickly became the biggest rehab project we’d ever taken on. From tearing down walls to choosing the perfect black granite countertops (Lina’s pick!), every inch of this home was touched with intention.

But God had other plans.

Just across the street, we stumbled upon what we now call our “forever (for now)” home—complete with a pool, much to the girls’ delight. So, we turned our beloved home into a rental and continued investing in the area.

Fast-forward to 2025, we made the decision to sell. With new ventures on the horizon (like our summer cottage in Sweden), it felt like the right time to let this house go—but with a twist.

Before listing, we split off the northern acre and kept it in the family—maybe for one of our daughters to build on one day. That strategic move allowed us to price the home competitively, generate strong interest, and sell quickly—while still holding on to a piece of our investment and legacy.

We’re proud of the renovations. We’re grateful for the memories. And we’re excited to watch this home become part of someone else’s story.

To everyone who helped make this house a home—contractors, friends, family—thank you.
And to the new owners: we hope you love it as much as we did.

Here’s to building forward—with purpose, strategy, and heart.
